Our Story
TerraWise is a business partnership consisting of husband and wife team Paul Clarke and Kate Laslo. Founded in 2024, TerraWise has expanded its reach throughout rural Southwestern Ontario, simplifying the land use planning process for clients and ensuring smooth approvals for planning applications.
​
Paul is an experienced planner and land economist with over 7 years of planning experience in rural communities across the province. Paul began his career in rural Eastern Ontario before returning to his childhood hometown in Southwestern Ontario. Immediately before founding TerraWise, Paul worked for Elgin County overseeing the County's planning system, including the improvement of Elgin's Land Division process, as well as drafting Elgin's current Official Plan. Paul received a diploma in Urban and Regional Planning - GIS from Mohawk College and a Bachelor of Arts, Economics from the University of Athabasca.

Kate is a law librarian with several years of experience in the field of legal research. Kate has coordinated legal research teams for some of North America's largest law firms. At TerraWise Kate conducts legal and case law research of Ontario Land Tribunal appeals, strengthening the position of TerraWise's proposals to municipal approval authorities. Kate received a Bachelors of Arts, History from McMaster University and a Masters of Library and Information Sciences from Western University.
